UNICEF NUTRITION SPECIALIST VISITS BSPC

The Permanent Secretary, Benue State Planning Commission, BSPC, Dr. Aondowase Nyam, has expressed deep appreciation to all Development Partners in Benue, for their unrelenting support in several areas of development and promised to involve them in the 2024 budget process, in his office Wednesday 20th September 2023.

The appreciation came when Dr. Nyam, who is also the Director of Budget, hosted a renowned Nutrition Specialist from UNICEF Field Office Enugu - Mrs. Ngozi Onora, who is in Benue State for a one day coordination meeting of all Partners, stakeholders and Ministries, Departments and Agencies on the Implementation of Food and Nutrition Program scheduled for 21st September, 2023.

Dr. Nyam, decried the lack of political will to harness the abundance of food In the state as well as misplaced priorities that create nutritional problems, charged the UNICEF Diplomat to create more advocacy for greater awareness in the Nutritional needs of Benue people.

From the onset, Mrs. Ngozi Onora expressed hope that the Stakeholders meeting will synergize strategies for enhancing the Nutritional agenda in Benue and requested BSPC to persuade the Governor to sign The Benue State Plan ON NUTRITION, which will last till 2025.

The meeting was cordial and successful.
